A native of South Florida, Jan began to develop her artistic talent more than 35 years ago. After completing a two year Commercial Art course, art took a back seat to raising three children and working for 23 years in the medical field. About 10 years ago Jan rediscovered her passion for art after being introduced to pastels, and resumed a serious interest in drawing and painting. Jan is an exhibiting member of Full Circle Art, an artists cooperative in Hickory, N.C., where her work has been juried into several competitions. Her awards have included a third place cash prize, a merchants award and an honorable mention. She is also a member of the Appalachian Pastel Society, and has had one of her works included in a statewide pastel exhibition.Now retired, Jan is finally able to devote much more of her time to her art.
